WINFIELD - A Putnam County woman has sued after slipping and falling on black ice outside of a physical therapy center.
Geraldine Adams filed her lawsuit Feb. 16 in Putnam Circuit Court against Teays Physical Therapy Center Inc., Jonseric LLC and Dennis F. Crede dba Crede's Lawn Service.
Adams says that on March 14, 2005, she was entering TPTC's property which is owned by Jonseric. The suit says TPTC and Jonseric are one in the same. She says the company had contracted Crede for snow and ice removal.
"Immediately upon stepping out of her automobile, plaintiff slipped and fell on snow and ice, including so-called 'black ice,' that the defendants had allowed to accumulate and linger on the surface of the parking lot associated with TPTC's facility," the complaint states.
Adams says she has suffered personal injuries, incurred medical expenses, has suffered lost wages, will likely incur medical expenses in the future, has endured and continues to endure pain and suffering and a loss of enjoyment of life, has been permanently impaired and has otherwise been injured and damaged.
She seeks a joint and several compensatory judgment for economic and non-economic losses, attorney fees, court costs and other relief.
Adams is represented by attorney Steven B. Wiley, and the case has been assigned to Circuit Judge O.C. "Hobby" Spaulding.
