CHARLESTON -- David Myerberg, M.D., J.D., a member of Jackson Kelly PLLC, authored a chapter called "Malpractice Considerations In Practice" in the book "Coding for Chest Medicine: Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep, 2008" published by the American College of Chest Physicians.
"Malpractice Considerations In Practice" provides an overview of the driving forces behind medical malpractice suits; guidelines for physician behavior (including The Ideal Doctor, Communication with Patients and Caregivers); communication in the 21st century (including the Internet, Emails and HMOs); Risk Management; Sedation in Private Offices; and Tort Reform.
As an attorney, Myerberg combines front-line work experience as an intensive care specialist and administrative work at various positions within hospitals. His experience provides him with a unique perspective and ability in defending clients regarding medical issues. Myerberg represents healthcare providers and corporate clients involved in medical litigation.
Before joining Jackson Kelly, Myerberg was a member of the faculty in the department of Pediatrics, section of Neonatology at West Virginia University (WVU) in Morgantown from 1978 to 1992. He is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. Myerberg is a cum laude graduate of Princeton University (1969), Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons (1973) and West Virginia University College of Law (1996).
