Woman sues Cross Lanes car wash, others for injuries

CHARLESTON -- A Nitro woman who claims she was injured on the premises of the Cross Lanes Car Wash and Oil Exchange is suing the company and Pennzoil-Quaker State Company.

On July 17, 2008, Rosa Fridley was a passenger in a vehicle operated by her son and was on the premises as a customer and/or invitee of the Cross Lanes Pennzoil 10-Minute Oil Exchange Center, according to a complaint filed Jan. 28 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Fridley claims when she exited the vehicle and proceeded around the read of the vehicle to the waiting area when she fell "head first approximately six feet to the bottom of the pit."

According to the suit, Fridley was rendered unconscious and sustained severe permanent injuries.

Fridley claims she sustained extreme physical pain and suffering; extreme mental anguish and suffering; permanent physical impairment; loss of wages and benefits; loss of future earning capacity and benefits; loss of capacity to enjoy life; medical expenses; and annoyance and inconvenience.

Fridley is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. She is being represented by Lee Javins II, D. Blake Carter and J. Robert Rogers.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Charles E. King.
