PERSONNEL FILE: Three attorneys join Spilman's Charleston office

CHARLESTON -— The law firm Spilman Thomas & Battle has announced that three attorneys have joined its Charleston office.

Kate Sturdivant Gibson will practice primarily in labor and employment law, assisting with general matters in these areas. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, from North Carolina Central University and her J.D., cum laude, from University of Richmond School of Law. She previously worked as a student extern for the litigation/ labor & employment section of the Office of the Attorney General of Virginia.

Rebecca D. Hardy's primary area of practice is general litigation. She will assist with research, pleadings, discovery and trial preparation. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, from Saint Michael's College and her J.D., magna cum laude, from University of Richmond School of Law. She previously worked as a judicial intern to The Honorable Robert E. Payne, U.S. District Court, Richmond, Va.

Sarah B. Patterson will practice in consumer finance litigation. She will assist with research, pleadings, discovery and trial preparation in this area of law. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, from Hamilton College and her J.D. from West Virginia University College of Law. She was recently employed at WVU College of Law as a teaching assistant, focused upon legal research and writing.
