Woman sues Wayne County Commission for injuries

WAYNE -- A woman is suing the Wayne County Commission after she was injured on its premises.

Two unknown and unnamed individuals were also named as defendants in the suit.

On Aug. 31, 2009, Jennifer A. Booton was a business invitee at the defendants' business premises when she slipped and fell, according to a complaint filed Aug. 24 in Wayne Circuit Court.

Booton claims she sustained injuries to her neck, back, spine and limbs.

The defendants failed to warn Booton that the floor of the pedestrian stairwell was being mopped and that it contained unsafe conditions, including water and/or other liquids on the floor, according to the suit.

Booton claims the defendants knew or should have known of the dangers the wet floor caused.

Booton is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. She is being represented by John F. Cyrus.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge James H. Young Jr.
